International Women Day 2021 Observed at Govt Degree College Doda
The International Women Day was observed with full zeal and enthusiasm at GDC Doda today. The main programme on the theme "choose to challenge" was organized by the Women Development Cell of the college.
Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi, Principal GDC Doda was the chief guest on occasion whereas Prof Kaniz Fatima, Rector Kargil Campus of Kashmir University was the resource person.
The programme started with a welcome address by Dr Anita Kotwal Coordinator Women Development Cell. Later on Prof Fatima delivered an online lecture wherein she congratulated the college administration for taking an initiative and stressed upon the students to work for the upliftment of the women folk. Moreover, Mr. Ankush Raaj, HOD Computer Sciences was the Technical Coordinator of the event and who provided all kind of logistics and technical support.
Later on some girl students delivered speeches and recited self composed poems on women empowerment and women education.
In order to develop a sense of competition among the girl students a slogan writing competition was organized in which Ms Shazia Banoo, Ms Ulfat banoo and Ms Sanikha got first, second and third prize respectively.
In his presidential address, Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi congratulated the organisers and assured them of full support and cooperation in their future endeavours. He urged upon the girl students to participate in co-curricular activities and quoted many examples to inspire them.
The stage was managed by a third semester student Ms Muqadaas and the formal vote of thanks was presented by Ms Akrity Parihar Assistant Professor EVS.
Others who were present on the occasion are Ms Upma Kuumari HoD Hindi, Ms Purnima Assistant Professor EVS and Ms Preeti Assistant Professor Education.
